Principal's Corner

Welcome to Kadena Middle School, Home of the Wolverines!

Allow me to introduce myself as your new Principal and tell you a little about the start of the school year and my vision as I enter Kadena Middle School. KMS has a great reputation and I look forward to working with the teachers, parents, and students as we continue to keep the focus on having a safe school with rich learning opportunities. We will focus on preparing students to be College and Career Ready, by focusing on our DoDEA standards, assessments, curriculum, technology integration, and professional development for teachers. I believe it is critical to partner with parents and establish strong relationships in our Military Community if we want KMS to be the best middle school in the Pacific.

Our Middle School, grades 6-8, is based on a A/B schedule, the DoDEA MS curriculum, and opportunities for a variety of core and elective classes to include a rich fine arts program, which comprise of band, chorus, and art. Other electives include PE, Host Nation (an introduction to our host country Japan), Family Consumer Science, and AVID. KMS also offers Algebra I, Geometry, Japanese I & II, and Spanish I & II for high school credit. We have excellent support for students with speech/language concerns, having a learning disability, English as a Second Language, and students that meet the criteria for the DoDEA gifted program.

Go Wolverines!
