A4L is an Air Force sponsored program that helps provide funding and resources to all students during transitional times. Transitional times include moving to a new place, starting a new school, or even just adjusting to a new grade level. Change can be difficult especially for middle school students. A4L is a club for kids, by kids, to connect students with others while building change and resiliency skills. Our A4L leaders provide opportunities for peers to build social skills, learn leadership skills, build character, improve self-esteem, and integrate into their community. We will also build leadership opportunities through community improvement service projects.

This club is open to any
students from 6th grade to 8th grade. Each week, students will choose a battle from history to explore in depth. Each week a student volunteers to put together a basic power point presentation to share with the club. The student presentation will be a 5–10-minute overview of the battle. This is NOT required, but optional for students who want to be more deeply involved. We will look at all aspects of the battle – tactics, terrain, leadership, weaponry, training and anything else that affected the outcome. We will also discuss the impact of the battle and the overall war it was a part of and discuss how military conflict has helped society. Each week we get a student volunteer to bring treats for the club as well, so we get to have an afternoon snack while we learn more about history.
